Parish Council

The role of the Parish Council is to represent the views and interests of all parishioners and to consult with Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council. All planning applications relating to Antrobus submitted to Cheshire West and Chester for approval are sent  to the Parish Council. In commenting on these applications the Parish Council provides local knowledge and must comment objectively on the planning and highways issues raised.

There are nine Parish Councillors, elected every four years, and a paid clerk. Traditionally Antrobus Parish Councillors have not been aligned to any political party in their Parish Council work. The Parish Council meets monthly, usually on the third Monday of the month, at Antrobus Village Hall. A summary of the work of the Council is published in the Antrobus Village News together with names and contact details of Councillors and the clerk. Minutes of meetings are displayed on the three Council notice boards in the centre of the village, at Gibb Hill and at Frandley. They  also appear on this web site.

The public are welcome at all Parish Council meetings.

They are asked to attend prior to the meeting to view any documents or plans and to discuss any matters with councillors.

Current Council:

Deborah Hodd - Chairman

Nigel Pemberton - Vice Chairman

Christine Ashall

Paul Harrison

Coni Sutton

Meetings are usually held on the 3rd Monday of each month in the Village Hall

Commencing at 7-30pm.

Should any Planning sub committee meetings be required due to CW&C response times, these are held in a public building and at least 3 days notice is given.

Antrobus Parish Council was formed in its own right in 1936.  Prior to that we were part of the old Sevenoaks area.  It is of interest to note that the Sevenoaks name still exists as a local government ward of the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester.  As was common in those early days all Councillors were male and being a rural area were mostly  farmers.  We have made progress in representation and now have a more eclectic mix.  Antrobus Parish Council is now choosing to look to the future an example of this being the awarding of Quality Parish Council status in 2006.
